When most people think of Nashville, they don’t typically think of the rap industry, but Nashville is currently producing some of today’s top up-and-comers. Nashville SC’s July DJ of the Month highlights the “underground” rap world of Nashville with Trapperman Dale. With over 75k monthly listeners on Spotify, Trap is an artist that is quickly making gains in the industry.
Trap grew up in West Nashville playing football, basketball, and baseball. While soccer wasn’t a sport he followed growing up, he’s excited that MLS has come to Nashville. He first became a soccer fan when David Beckham began playing for LA Galaxy in 2007. After attending Nashville SC’s Kit Reveal Party at the Wildhorse Saloon in January, Trap was convinced that “Nashville SC is the biggest thing to happen to the city since the Titans came to town” over 20 years ago, and is excited to be a part of our journey.
When we asked Trap about choosing Nashville over Los Angeles or New York to pursue a career in rap, his reply was simple.
“Nashville is home, and even if the rap industry doesn’t take off in Nashville, I have what I need here to grow worldwide.”
