Introducing Josh Hish, our December DJ of the Month!
Having grown up on classic country music and playing instruments since he was five, Josh moved to Nashville 10 years ago to pursue a career in the country music industry.
His current role in Music City connects music and sport in a unique way. The Tennessee Titans brought him on for some practices and for in-game/stretching hype up songs, according to Hish. He said that working alongside Nashville’s NFL team has been great and that “the players will shoot me a text with some requests, sometimes even day-of.”
Originally from Boyertown, Pennsylvania, Josh’s favorite sports memory is from an American football game: Super Bowl LII in 2018 when he got to watch the Eagles beat the Patriots. Josh was introduced to soccer through his best friend, a native of London and fan of Manchester United.
Though his best friend recently passed away, his tie to London remains true as Josh brought his passion for music across the pond. Along with hosting a country music remix-based radio show based out of London, Josh travels to and from London almost monthly to play. Even more, he said, “I’m playing a ton of festivals including C2C at the O2 in London this year along with many others.”
Having a view of Nashville SC’s new stadium construction from his house, Josh is excited about having MLS in Nashville. He says bringing professional soccer to Music City means “slowly becoming the best city in the country for soccer … and everything else.”
Josh’s favorite venue in Nashville to play is Nissan Stadium and Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, and his advice for those pursuing a career in the music industry is, “Be humble, work hard and the rest will sort itself out.”
