Nashville SC jerseys will be auctioned following the match; All proceeds will benefit the Middle Tennessee Tornado Relief Fund
NASHVILLE (Mar. 7, 2020) – As the City of Nashville and the Middle Tennessee region deal with the aftermath of the tornado that hit our community on Tuesday morning, Nashville Soccer Club and the Portland Timbers will join forces on Sunday night to raise funds in support of the relief efforts by wearing a commemorative ‘Never Give Up On You’ patch on their jerseys.
An ode to soccer and community, the ‘Never Give Up On You’ lyrics were originally written by Judah and the Lion to reflect on the comradeship built around soccer and the city of Nashville, a community that always comes together in support of one another. In our city and region’s darkest moments, the NGUOY anthem has gained a deeper meaning, it has become a promise of strength and resiliency.
The Nashville SC jerseys will be signed by the Boys in Gold and auctioned with the proceeds going to the Middle Tennessee Tornado Relief Fund. The auction will open the week of March 9th. Check back at NashvilleSC.com/NGUOY for more information.
The Timbers will also be supporting the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund by extending a special ticket offer with the proceeds benefiting Nashville tornado relief efforts. Local Portland fans can enter "NashvilleStrong" into the Access Code field to be able to purchase a $35 General Admission ticket with no fees, and $15 from each ticket purchased will be donated to aid in tornado relief.
In addition to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Nashville SC is working closely with the American Red Cross to raise funds for immediate disaster relief. Fans interested in supporting these organizations can visit NashvilleSC.com/NGUOY.
