NASHVILLE -- We’ve gone vertical.
On Friday, Nashville SC celebrated the installation of the first steel beam at the site of its new soccer-specific stadium in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood just south of Downtown Nashville.
To mark this momentous occasion, let’s take a tour and see what’s coming at the largest soccer-specific stadium in the country in 2022.
Midfield
This is where a new era for Nashville Soccer Club will begin in 2022, but as vice president of operations Scott Neal puts it, ”how do we go from a pile of rocks to a 30,000-seat stadium?”
Per senior project manager Tom Clark, the construction crew from Mortenson-Messer has made tremendous progress since construction began in July, completing the excavation and necessary foundation.
While the pitch is currently a working surface for construction equipment, work on the field itself can begin once it’s cleared. An underground drainage system and a 12-inch root zone will be installed that the natural grass field will rest on.
Locker Room
The place where our players will prepare to represent our city. As they change and march to the field, they will hear the passion of our fans.
The construction process is a tall task, but the crew is working hard to ensure, as project manager Mieah Turner puts it, “this stadium meets the long term vision of our Nashville community as a whole.”
Main Concourse
Nashville SC Stadium will be home to three premium clubs: the Premier Club, the Honkey Tonk and the Sports Bar. Beyond the clubs, the stadium will feature 27 suites, additional premium areas and a press area.
Nashville SC’s exclusive Premier Club seating for the new stadium will be on sale to the general public on Feb. 22. Additional information can be found here or by calling 615-750-8800. Of the 300 Premier Club Memberships less than 100 remain available due to overwhelming interest from current season ticket members.
The Backline Section
The most important part of any stadium is the fans, and nowhere will that be on display more than our Supporters Section. The safe-standing area will hold 3,000 of the most passionate soccer fans in the country as they support our boys in gold.
