Key Storylines
- Four Unbeaten – Nashville finished the month of May strong with two wins and two draws. Most recently, the Boys in Gold went to second-place FC Cincinnati and put on a tidy performance. Early goals from Jack Maher and Jacob Shaffelburg plus a clean sheet from Joe Willis and his backline bumped Nashville up into a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference table.
- The Best in MLS – Saturday’s match features a battle of former Landon Donovan MLS MVPs between Hany Mukhtar and Carles Gil, who won the award in 2022 and 2021 respectively. Both wearing the number 10 shirt, they’ll both look to get on the ball and create chances going forward for their sides. In Nashville’s most recent match, Mukhtar created magic providing assists on both goals, including this move which ended in a Shaffelburg goal.
- Fun Last Time – These two teams last faced off in October 2023, with the Boys in Gold winning 3-2 at GEODIS Park. Sam Surridge notched his first two goals in league play in the first half which helped secure three points in New England’s only visit to GEODIS Park so far. Overall, Nashville leads the series with a record of 2W-3D-1L.
- Pride Night at the Park – We’ll be kicking off Pride Month and celebrating our LGBTQ+ community in Nashville and beyond. Throughout Pride Night, we’ll be recognizing LGBTQ+ advocates and leaders in our community, and matchday entertainment will feature members of the LGBTQ+ community. Our 2024 Pride Collection is available now at the Nashville SC Team Store and a portion of proceeds will benefit the Tennessee Pride Chamber of Commerce.

Opposition Player to Watch
As Gil goes, the Revs go. The Spaniard leads New England in goals, assists, and chances created. With 9 goals scored in league play this season, Gil has scored almost half (4). As a playmaker who enjoys going forward to join the attack, Nashville’s defensive midfield and backline will be key in making sure Gil cannot display his dynamic playstyle in full.
