DOOLSTA VISITED NASHVILLE BEFORE DEPARTING FOR BUCHAREST
NASHVILLE – Cormac “Doolsta” Dooley has played against some of the best EA Sports FIFA players in the world.
But before he trekked to Bucharest, Romania to kick off the 2019-20 FIFA circuit at Stage One of the FUT Champions Cup this weekend, he faced off against some Nashville SC fans at the Invitational Final of the Tennessee EA Sports FIFA 20 Challenge.
“It’s great, the whole setup was really well-run,” Doolsta said. “It was great to see all of the guys come out and play. A lot of top talent out here, so it’s good to see everyone coming together and playing and having fun.”
This was Doolsta’s second-ever trip to Nashville, and after getting himself some Prince’s Hot Chicken on his first trip, he made another food stop to feel more like a local.
“I got to hit up a few more food spots,” Doolsta said. “I went to Peg Leg [Porker], that was really nice, got a good pulled pork sandwich. Nashville is a great city, and I love being here.”
After taking in the tournament in Nashville, Doolsta quickly departed for Bucharest, Romania, where he’ll play in Stage One of the FUT Champions Cup from November 8-10. This is the first event in which FIFA Global Series Points are up for grabs, which will determine which gamers qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup next year.
The defending eMLS Cup champion Doolsta is looking to make a statement early on after failing to qualify for the eWorld Cup at the end of last season.
“Last year I kind of struggled in the global events, so the first one I kind of want to make a push for a top four spot, that’s the aim for me,” Doolsta said. “I’d love to win it, but I think top four is where I want to be at.”
Doolsta has maintained a busy lifestyle, particularly since he started his freshman year at Temple University. After the Nashville SC FIFA event last Sunday, he flew back to Philadelphia before flying to Bucharest for this event. Even though his calendar gets filled up quickly, Doolsta wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It can be a lot at times, but at the end of the day I like playing video games for a job,” Doolsta said. “It’s fun. I get to travel around the world and meet all these guys from all over the place. It’s enjoyable. I look forward to seeing some of my friends from other countries in Romania this week.”
