Jason Batty | U15 Head Coach
Jason Batty joins the Nashville SC Academy after working as the goalkeeping and assistant coach of the Utah Royals FC in the National Women’s Soccer League from 2018-2020. While working with Nashville, he is also working with US Soccer youth teams as the goalkeeper coach. He previously worked as the goalkeeping coach for the New Zealand men’s national football team after joining the staff in 2019 and helped the team compete in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Before joining the All Blacks, he served as the Technical Director of the Auckland Soccer Federation in New Zealand for three years after working as the San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeping coach from 2008-2015. He helped the Earthquakes win the Supporters Shield in 2012. His first position in coaching came at Dartmouth College from 2003-2006.
As a player, he has 55 international caps for New Zealand and won two OFC Nations Cups and two FIFA Confederations Cups. He has played domestically in New Zealand for North Shore United. He has played for various clubs across Europe including Bohemian FC in Ireland and Kilmarnock FC in Scotland. He spent time with multiple clubs in England including Norwich City Academy, Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United and Stalybridge Celtic. He also played for Geylang United in Singapore.
He holds U.S. Soccer’s “A” and “B” coaching licenses and has two children with his wife, Jessica.
